For decades, the town was a relative bargain considering its proximity to the ocean, major highways, and commuter rail. That’s no longer the case – prices are up and still rising. The main reason: More and more people want to live here, but the number of homes for sale remains historically low, as it does in much of Massachusetts. Demand is outstripping supply by a wide margin, especially in Plymouth’s most desirable sections, like the streets around the downtown area. It’s a good news-bad news scenario, depending on your position in the market.
