The League of Women Voters of the Plymouth Area would like to call your attention to an opportunity soon to be provided by Secretary of State William F. Galvin’s office to easily obtain mail-in ballots for all four elections this year.

The elections will be in March, May, September, and November. Later this month, postcards will be sent to every registered voter in Massachusetts. All voters need to do is check a couple of boxes and the ballots will automatically be mailed out before each election.

Why would you take advantage of this option? If you have a mail-in ballot there is no need to stand in line at the polls. And voters who are ill, traveling or have a scheduling conflict on Election Day, can still easily vote by mailing the ballot in.

Voters who opt to have ballots mailed to them have another advantage. They get ballots early and thus have access, in advance, to ballot questions and a list of all the candidates, giving them a chance to cast more informed votes.

Plymouth voters who return the postcard and receive mail-in ballots can still, if they choose, vote at the polls or during early voting at Town Hall – as long as they vote only once!
