The Portuguese Lusophone-World Lecture Series: 50th Anniversary of the Carnation Revolution (New Bedford)

Fifty years ago, Portugal experienced a bloodless coup called the Carnation Revolution. Duncan Simpson, PhD presents a lecture on “Portuguese Society and Salazar’s Political Police (PIDE) Before and After the Revolution of 25 April 1974.” The lecture will be followed by a panel discussion and lite reception.
Duncan Simpson is a visiting professor at the Luso-American Foundation of Lisbon, FLAD, in the Department of Portuguese and Brazilian Studies at Brown University and a research fellow at the Instituto de Ciências Sociais at the University of Lisbon, Portugal.
