First Day Hike (Wareham)

Join us for a First Day hike at the Great Neck Wildlife Sanctuary. Get a head start on those New Year’s resolutions by exploring the Old Pasture and Widow’s Cove Loops featuring a peaceful pine forest and beautiful scenic view of Buzzard’s Bay. Spearheaded by the Barnstable Land Trust, First Day Hikes Cape Cod is a unique one-day regional celebration for families, children, residents and visitors to explore outdoors on the first day of the new year.
These trails traverse forested paths and rough dirt roads. Participants registering for this hike should be able to hike trails of easy to moderate difficulty, should wear durable hiking shoes, and should bring water and layers (as appropriate for the weather). Light rain will not cancel the event. In the event of more serious weather, a notification will be sent to registrants.
Parking for the Great Neck Wildlife Sanctuary can be found at the main parking lot at the intersection of Great Neck Road and Stockton Shortcut.
