Very interesting — and revealing — interview with Norm Stillman, who was the vet for two of my dogs when I first moved to Plymouth.  It’s helpful to know why he sold the practice.  He was a wonderful, caring vet and we miss him, but hope he finds what makes him happy going forward.

His [Court Street Animal Hospital] practice is now run by a similarly caring vet. The vet techs in the practice are great.  It seems like the veterinary medicine practice should go the same route as medical doctors and provide training and certification for veterinary physician assistants who can handle all of the day-to-day issues so the vets can focus on the more complex matters.  It could help the severe shortage of caring vets that all of us pet owners are dealing with right now.
