Margaret Therese Buckley

Margaret “Peggy” Therese Buckley, a longtime teacher and dealer of antiques, died peacefully in her home on Wed., April 8. She was 97.

Born in Manhattan on Jan. 12, 1929 to Edward and Brigid (Bookle) Lee from County Kilkenny, Ireland, she attended St. Paul the Apostle High School, now the site of Lincoln Center Cathedral High School, Fordham University, receiving a Bachelor’s Degree from Albertus Magnus College in New Haven, CT, and a diploma in Irish Studies from the National University of Ireland, NUI Galway. He was a teacher in Manhattan and worked in the antique business in Madison, CT before moving to Plymouth.

She is survived by her children, Susan Buckley, Michael (Annette) Buckley, John (Susan) Buckley, Mary (Richard Beatson); nine grandchildren, three great grandchildren, sister-in-law Johanna Lee, and many cousins, nieces and nephews.

Her husband, Gerald, died in 2004.

A funeral mass will be at 10:30 a.m. Monday, April 13, at St. Peters Church, 86 Court St., Plymouth. Interment in West Cemetery, Boston Post Road, Madison, CT.
