Seems like Plymouth is closed for the Fourth of July holiday. Why do I even live here?
No beach access for White Horse and Priscilla Beach. Priscilla Beach belongs to that neighborhood only? I know it was made into a homeowners association in 1937, but how can they claim the beach? This seems like overreach of public space.
Does the Town of Plymouth provide any street maintenance in this neighborhood, or do plowing of these streets in the winter? What about broken water or sewer pipes? Does the beach itself require any maintenance where taxpayer dollars are spent? If so, the beach isn’t really theirs.
With a resident sticker and a town beach sticker on my car windows, I should have some kind of access to this beach. I’m tired of neighborhoods claiming the oceanfront and making street parking impossible by putting up “residents only” street signs every 10 feet.
There’s a representative in our state Legislature looking to end these restrictive practices. If one single taxpayer dollar is used in these exclusive neighborhoods, I’d like access to their beach. [it’s] my beach as well, as a taxpayer.
