The League of Women Voters of the Plymouth Area invites the public to attend its annual candidates forum on Thursday, May 1, from 7 to 9 p.m. in the Great Room at Plymouth Town Hall.
This event offers a valuable opportunity to hear directly from the individuals running to serve our community. Uncontested candidates for town moderator, Planning Board, and Housing Authority will begin the evening by introducing themselves. A moderated forum will follow for the contested races for Planning Board, School Committee, and Select Board. Audience members are encouraged to submit questions during the forum.
The event will be televised live on government access channels (9 on Comcast and 47 on Verizon) by the Local Seen, making it accessible to those unable to attend in person. A recording will also be available on the League’s website.
Remember — your vote, especially in local elections, matters. Democracy is not a spectator sport – we all need to participate to make it work. Plymouth’s election day is Saturday, May 17, with early voting available by mail or in person at Town Hall. You can find more information on the town website.
Please also be aware that Plymouth has recently reduced its number of polling locations from 18 to 5. Voters should check the town website before heading out to vote for updated polling place information.
The League of Women Voters is a nonpartisan organization committed to encouraging informed and active participation in government. We hope to see you at the forum and at the polls!
