Emily (Pacheco) Costa

Emily (Pacheco) Costa of Plymouth died peacefully on April 26 at Life Care Center of Plymouth. She was the beloved wife of the late Charles L. Costa. Born in Sao Miguel, Azores on September 11, 1936, and the daughter of the late Virginio and Mary (Jesse) Pacheco. She was educated in the Azores and came to the US as a young girl. She worked for the former Browning and Ellis Curtain factory in Plymouth as a curtain cutter. Emily and Charlie enjoyed traveling in their retirement years. Emily enjoyed sewing, crocheting, and cooking for her family, Her Portuguese sweet bread was a family favorite.

Emily is survived by her two daughters, Kathy M. Allen and her husband Scott of Plymouth; and Diane Kemp and her husband John of Plymouth. She is the sister of Ida Morey of Plymouth and the late Hazel Tavares, who passed away on April 18, and the late Nicholas Pacheco. She was the cherished grandmother of Nicholas C. Allen and Casey James Allen and the great grandmother of Kaleigh Allen and Jordan Berry. She shared a very special bond with Kaleigh.

Visiting hours in the Cartmell-Davis Life Celebration Funeral Home, 373 Court St., North Plymouth on Wed. May 1, from 8:30 to 10:30 a.m., followed by a funeral Mass in St. Mary’s Church, 313 Court St., North Plymouth, at 11 a.m. Burial will be in St. Joseph’s Cemetery, Plymouth.
