David Emerson Brown

David Emerson Brown, who retired from a lifelong career in sales to open an ice cream shop on Plymouth’s waterfront, died April 8. He was 82.

Born July 22, 1943, he was the son of Herbert and Beatrice Brown, and the second of four children.

His family and friends remember him as a consummate salesman, a lifelong lover of golf, and avid gardener, and a eucharistic minister. Following his retirement, he sold ice cream at the Plymouth Bay Café. He was a Grand Knight in the Knights of Columbus.

 He survived by his wife of 61 years, Marilyn Brown (Montanari) of Plymouth, his children Christine Brown and her husband Vic of Pelham, NH; David Brown and his wife Michelle of Middleboro; Jeff Brown and his wife Greta of Bristol, RI; and Todd Brown of Plymouth; grandchildren Keith, Drew, Chelsey, Ryan, Jillian, Eden, Arabella, Cody and TJ; and great grandchildren Parker and Everly.

Visitation will be 4 to 7 p.m. Tuesday, April 14, at the Cartmell-Davis Funeral Home, 373 Court St., Plymouth. Funeral services will be 11 a.m. Wed., April 15 at the Church of St. Peters, 86 Court St, Plymouth.
