Agnes Christine Romano died peacefully at her home on Aug. 26 surrounded by her family. She was 94.
A lifelong resident of Plymouth, she was married to Ralph J. Romano who died in 1991. For 45 years she worked in the food service industry at Sacred Heart School in Kingston until her retirement at age 72.
She was a part of an elite group of ladies known as “The Ming Girls,” who were welcomed by the staff at Ming Dynasty restaurant every Saturday for lunch.
Family and friends remember her for her kind nature and her love of baking. She was a well-known cookie aficionado, and for decades made trays of decorated cookies – with her grandchildren, great grandchildren and their friends – to hand out every holiday.
She is survived by her daughter, Jean A. Quintal and her husband, Paul M. Quintal, of Plymouth; her son, Ralph D. Romano and his wife, Candia Z. Romano, of Middleboro; her granddaughters, Amy C. Hatch, Pamela J. Quintal and her husband, and Sean M. Quintal of Lakeville; and great grandchildren Ace, Patrick and Emily Hatch.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Ralph Romano, and her parents Francis Walter Kuhn and Margaret Mary (Pasteris) Kuhn, of Plymouth.
Visiting hours will be 4 to 7 p.m. Tuesday, Sept. 1 at Cartmell Davis Funeral Home, 373 Court St. The funeral service will also be at Cartmell-Davis Funeral Home, followed by a burial at St. Joseph’s Cemetery at 10 a.m. on Sept. 2.
