Adam Shawn Holmes

Adam Shawn Holmes, formerly of Plymouth, died April 5, 2026 surrounded by loved ones at his home. He was 40.

Born in Plymouth on June 9, 1985, to Michael Shawn Holmes and Moira (McElhinney) Holmes, he was a graduate of Plymouth South High School and spent many years as a carpenter.

His family and friends remember him as a devoted father and someone who loved being outside. riding dirt bikes, fishing, or sitting by a fire. They describe him as a man with a natural way of making people feel welcome, comfortable, and at ease, and he made friends everywhere he went.

Above everything else, Adam was a devoted father to Aria Holmes and Ryen Brennan. They were the center of his world and the greatest source of his pride and love.

 Adam was smart, thoughtful, and deeply caring. He loved his family fiercely and was loved just as deeply in return. He was the beloved companion of Cristin Brennan and the devoted son of Michael and Moira Holmes of Plymouth.

In addition to his parents, he is survived by his partner Cristin Brennan; his children Aria Holmes and Ryen Brennan; his sister Michelle Janedy and her husband Matt of Mashpee; his brothers-in-law, Michael Brennan and his wife Kim of Carver, and Sean Brennan Janina Garcia of Chicago; his mother-in-law, Paula Brennan of Plymouth; along with many friends.

Visitation will be 4 to 6 p.m. April 17 at Cartmell-Davis Funeral Home, 373 Court Street, Plymouth. A memorial will follow at the 1620 Hotel on the waterfront in Plymouth.
