The recent Independent stories on the airport do nothing to improve the airport and the greater Plymouth community. I have been a supporter and follower of the Independent from its inception and do not remember stories that seem so personal. Serving as an airport commissioner from 2013-2025 I worked closely with airport management and the other commissioners. I always felt that every commissioner had the highest level of integrity and held the best interests of the town of Plymouth in making decisions. The airport is an asset for the town. Until recently the best interests of the town and the airport coincided. The commissioners all live in Plymouth, pay taxes in Plymouth, and care about our future. We should not view the airport commissioners as bad people.
