Sandra A. Johnson

Sandra A. Johnson, who loved a good practical joke and trips to the casino, died July 14 after a brief illness. She was 81.

Family and friends remember her for her quiet strength and selflessness, her devotion as a mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, foster mother, sister, aunt, nurse and friend who dedicated her life to caring for others. She loved practical jokes and enjoyed making people laugh, bingo and trips to the casino.  her quiet strength, her selflessness, and the way she made everyone feel like family.

She is survived by her children and their spouses, Robin Johnson, Rick Johnson and Cheranne, Tracy Manion and Paul, Jamie Blake and Russ; as well as her grandchildren, Adriana, Penny, and Aaron Johnson, Hope, Aidan and Grace Manion, Hunter, Emma, Kallie and Makenna Blake; great grandchildren Caden, Aryana, Aella and April; and her siblings Pam, Shelly, and Paul.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Richard, and her brother, Skip.

A funeral mass celebrating her life will be 10:30 a.m. Thursday, July 23 at St. Peter’s Church, 86 Court St. with burial to follow at Bourne National Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in her memory to Bethesda House or Tunnels 2 Towers, causes very meaningful to her.
