Petie (Stephanie Main) Blanchard, who partnered with her family on a design studio and worked for 20 years in her husband’s architecture office, died quietly June 29 from complications of Lewy Body Dementia. She was 79.

Born in 1947 in Millis, MA, to the late Edgar and Pauline Main, she graduated from Millis High School in 1964 and from Northeastern Forsyth Dental School for Hygiene in 1969. She helped found Building Blocks, a nonprofit preschool, and served as a Girl Scout leader. For more than 20 years, she was office manager in her husband’s architecture firm. She partnered with daughter Nicki and sister-in-law Claire Bartlett in not simply BEADS, a jewelry design studio. She also worked for 16 years as Computer Systems Specialist for the Plymouth Housing Authority, retiring in 2017.

Family and friends remember her as a caring, creative woman who loved taking cruises with her husband of 56 years, Paul.

She is survived by her husband, daughter Nicki (Nicole) Blanchard; and many cousins, nieces, and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, daughter Becki (Rebecca), brother Harris Main, and sister Nita Waters.

A gathering of friends will be 9 a.m. to noon July 11 at the Cartmell-Davis Funeral Home, 150 Court St. in Plymouth. A memorial service will follow at Christ Church Parish, 149 Court St. In lieu of flowers, donations in Petie’s name may be made to Christ Church Parish or the Plymouth Philharmonic Orchestra.
