Dolores Fontes, formerly of Plymouth, died peacefully Saturday, May 30, at Cape Heritage Nursing Center in Sandwich. She was 74
Born on March 18, 1952, in Plymouth, to the late John S. and Amelia S. (Silva) Fontes, she grew up in North Plymouth and graduated from Plymouth-Carver High School and Massasoit College. She began her career as a hairdresser in the Plymouth area before later working as a secretary for J.S. Ferguson Electric Corp. in Plymouth.
Her family and friends remember her for her feisty spirit, strong faith, and sense of humor. She was a lifelong member of St. Mary’s Church, and surrounded herself with her love of the color pink, whether it was with her style, fashion or home décor.
She is survived by her sons, Joseph Eufrazio and his wife, Amy, of Plymouth and Michael Fontes and his girlfriend, Erin Murphy, of Kingston; her brother, John R. Fontes and his wife, Ann, of Halifax; and her beloved grandchildren, Sophia and Olivia Eufrazio, Dominic Fontes, Violet Hachey, Anthony and Gabriel. She is also survived by her nephews, John-Michael, Nathan, James, and John.
She was preceded in death by her brother, Arthur Fontes, and his wife, Rita.
A Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated at St. Mary’s Church.
