The Plymouth Select Board needs intelligent leaders who base decisions on data driven information, reason, and sound judgment. That is why I am voting for Kevin Canty.
Kevin Canty does the research and has the analytic acuity to discern what actions taken will bring the most long-term benefits to Plymouth. His advocacy to add money to the nuclear mitigation fund to better position the town for the possible purchase of the Holtec property, his drafted legislation to change the date of Spring Town Meeting from April to May in order to give the Town more information on State Aid in future budget years ,and his help in devising a strategy to defeat the proposed $19 million purchase of the Atlantic Country Club by an out-of-town developer for only approximately $5,000 in legal fees, are specific examples of his forward thinking.
Kevin Canty stands up for what he believes is best for the Town, regardless of what public pressure he is under in regard to reviewing the budget, evaluating proposed bylaws or policies, etc. He doesn’t use his votes to settle scores against his opponents or to benefit his friends or allies. He evaluates all ideas, wherever they come from, fairly, and makes what he believes is the best decision for the entire community.
