Maybe this should mean Can? Canty?  As in can Canty break up the planned team of Dickie and Betty.  With Quintal and Cavacco declaring that they will run as a team it appears that the selectboard could be dominated by people with the same agenda.  Whatever the agenda may be does not matter.  What matters is that we could have our local governance locked into an outlook similar to the US Congress where there is no real debate or effective curb or restraint on the administration.

I may have been anti-Canty earlier, but when the two candidates announced the intention to be a team my outlook changed.  I am not a Select Board groupie who attends meetings or watches on public access TV. I just read about the actions taken by the board that affect my taxes, public safety, and lifestyle.   I do believe that there needs to be real independence of thought by the select board members.  Open discussion and difference of opinion can lead to a better form of government.

Perhaps other voters in Plymouth will realize that we can vote in ‘group think’ form of government.
