As a follow-up to Andrew Karmen’s Sept. 5 letter [on] lack of coverage foranti-Trump/ Pro-democracy rallies in Plymouth, I not only fully support his comments but would like to add to them.

First, where are our local elected officials? To date, my wife and I have attended most of the rallies at Plymouth Rock but, unlike a Boston rally we attended in April, have yet to see or hear from any office holder from Plymouth in support of our efforts. Why? As independent voters we want to hear where they stand on the major issues impacting our town, state, and country.

Now is not the time for business as usual from our elected leaders. Our freedoms are being trampled, our quality of life is slowly being diminished, and the vision of a future America for most of us as delineated by the current administration can only be described as terrifying.

As your independent [news site] continues to grow in stature and importance, we need you to be present and accounted for so that you can report on the important news in Plymouth, e.g., these rallies, so that others may know when, where, and how they can get involved.
