My mom, Rose Costa, was a resident of North Plymouth for many years on Cherry Street, and in her later years moved to Prince Street senior housing. Being alone and trying to manage her apartment was difficult as she became older. If she needed a light bulb, some tool, or anything to help her around the house, she would walk to Charlie’s [hardware store] and bring the item with her. She always told me stories of how she would be greeted by Charlie (and his dog) and actually enjoyed going there.
The story about him in the Independent was well written and it brought back so many memories of my mom during that time. I really enjoyed the article.
