William Sebring “Beau” Herrick died peacefully on Sept. 19, after a long battle with Alzheimer’s disease. He was 78.
Born Jan. 16, 1948, to the late Paul and Jane Herrick, he grew up in Weston, MA, attended Deerfield Academy where he played tennis and soccer, and then attended Denison University, where he played soccer and graduated in 1970.
He began his career with Northwestern Mutual Life in June 1971 and remained a special agent with the company throughout his career. He and his wife, Maria, moved to Plymouth in 2016. He is remembered for his love of sports, a great joke, and coaching his children’s soccer teams.
He is survived by his wife; his children, Tim and his wife, Meg, Annie and her husband, Michael Mortara, and Marion and her husband, Dan Cutler; his grandchildren, Cate, Rose, Charlie, Oliver, Lillian, and Garrison; his brother, Rick Herrick; his sister, Jane Mueller and extended family and friends.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in his name to the Alzheimer’s Association.
A memorial gathering will be from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 14, at Needham Golf Club, 49 Green St., Needham, MA.
