Some who are worried about the pollution and climate impact of burning fossil fuels are now supporting nuclear power because nuclear plants don’t spew CO2 into our air. But new Harvard School of Public Health research shows that people living within three miles of a nuclear power plant have a higher risk of getting cancer.

Gee, wouldn’t it be nice if we had a source of energy that didn’t cause cancer? Didn’t pollute our air? Didn’t cause global temperature rise? Didn’t contribute to the increase in chaotic weather like massive storms, prolonged droughts, and intolerable heat?

We do. Sources of renewable energy, including solar, wind, and battery storage are clean, increasingly more affordable, and won’t give you cancer.

Let’s keep our power sources clean and safe.
