I’m writing to express dismay about the candy thrown during the Plymouth Fourth of July Parade. While the tradition may seem festive, it results in gum and hard candy littering our downtown streets. This is not only unsightly but also creates sanitation issues as it attracts unwanted pests to our downtown streets.

Wasn’t there once a restriction against throwing candy during parades in Plymouth? If so, it seems that policy has been forgotten. Allowing this practice essentially encourages littering without consequence, undermining the efforts to keep our town clean and welcoming for both residents and visitors.
