Shirley Marie Thomas

Shirley Marie Thomas, who worked in the housekeeping department of Jordan Hospital for 30 years, died Sunday. She was 76.

Born in Plymouth on Jan. 11, 1950,  the daughter of the late Edward Thomas and Hilda (Valente) Thomas- Pollard, she was raised and educated in Plymouth and graduate from  Plymouth–Carver High School.

Her family and friends remember her as someone whose strong work ethic, gentle spirit, quiet kindness, and familiar presence left a lasting impression on colleagues and all who knew her. She took great pride in being part of a team that cared for others.

She is survived by her brother, Paul Thomas of Las Vegas, and her niece, Sarah Thomas of Plymouth. She was predeceased by her sister, Linda Thomas.

Visitation will be 9:30 to 10:45 a.m. on Saturday, March 14 at Cartmell-Davis Life Celebration Funeral Home, 373 Court Street, North Plymouth. Burial will follow at St. Joseph’s Cemetery in Plymouth.
