Russell Todd Sadler

Russell Todd Sadler, a former Plymouth resident who worked with theater groups throughout Southern Massachusetts and was an Eagle Scout, died suddenly on Aug.13. He was 49.

Born to Sheila Lynn Sadler (Barber) and the late Russell Leo Sadler, Jr. in Newton, MA, he was an active childhood member of Manomet’s Troop 51 with Scouting America, where he became an Eagle Scout. In high school, he played alto saxophone and was a Drum Major at Plymouth South High School class of 1994. He attended Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute in New York, joining the Theta chapter of the Chi Phi fraternity, and finished his studies at UMass Boston, graduating with a degree in Psychology.

Following in his father’s footsteps, Todd joined Sadler Financial Group, LTD. in Plymouth, where he worked both as an accountant and investment planner. While living in Plymouth, he served as a board member of the Plymouth Area Coalition for The Homeless and was an active member of the Plymouth Kiwanis Club. He served on the board of the Waldorf School of Cape Cod for many years and supported them after stepping down.

After moving his family to Falmouth, he served on the board of The Falmouth Theatre Guild, where he acted, worked backstage, and produced his own shows. He was also active at The Cotuit Center for The Arts, Barnstable Comedy Club, and The Academy of Performing Arts in Orleans.

He is survived by his mother Sheila Sadler of Plymouth; his daughter Calypso Sadler of Plymouth, her mother Sarah Sadler of Falmouth, his brother Brett Sadler and sister-in-law Alexa of Hanover, his sister Ashley Sadler and her partner Jenn of Marion, as well as his longtime partner, Deanna Dziedzina of Dennis.

A celebration of life will be 2 to 5 p.m. Saturday, Oct.17 at Lucas Hall, 54 Chapoquoit Road, Falmouth, MA. An additional celebration of life will be held in Plymouth at a later date.

In lieu of flowers, donations in his memory may be made to the Falmouth Theatre Guild, P.O. Box 383 Falmouth, Ma 0254 and to Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center.
