Rhonda (Simpson) Lehan, who for 15 years was bus driver for First Student of Plymouth, died peacefully surrounded by her family on Sept. 13th at the McCarthy Care Center in E. Sandwich, MA. She was 70.
Born Oct. 19, 1955, in Quincy, MA, to the late Ronald H. and Margaret P. (Digiacomo) Simpson, she graduated from Braintree High School, and earned an Associates degree in business from Northeastern University. She also received certifications in Financial Services from the American Banking Institute. She was a budget analyst with State Street Corporation for 16 years before taking time to raise her family. With her children grown, she became a school bus driver.
Family and friends remember her passion for ceramics, sports, golfing, softball, racquetball and in later years her culinary skills, especially with Italian Family recipes. avidly reading, using painting/coloring apps, or playing puzzle games on the computer.
She is survived by her husband, David E. Lehan; her son, James D. Lehan of Riverview, FL; her daughter, Stephanie M. Lehan of Plymouth; her siblings, Barbara Reis and her husband Rhue of Richmond, RI, Steven Simpson and his wife Vicky of Kauneonga Lake, NY, Karen Northcott and her husband Michael of Medway, Linda Liss and her husband Farrel of Hanover and Christine Spataro Murphy and her late husband Daniel Murphy III, of Plymouth; her brother-in-law Gary Lehan of Brockton; and many nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews.
Visitation will be 4 to 7 p.m. Monday, Sept. 21at Cartmell-Davis Life Celebration Funeral Home, 373 Court St., Plymouth. A funeral mass will be 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, Sept. 22 at St. Peter’s Church, 86 Court St., Plymouth. Burial will follow at Vine Hills Cemetery in Plymouth.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the McCarthy Care Center in Sandwich or to the American Heart Association.
