Paul A. Greenwood, Jr., 63, of Plymouth, passed away peacefully on Saturday, May 31. He was the devoted husband of Ann L. (Giovanetti) Greenwood.
He was the loving father of the late Peter Paul Greenwood and his wife Sandy; the beloved stepfather of Christopher Daley and his wife Hollie, of Plymouth; and David Daley, of Plymouth. He was also the cherished grandfather of Andrew Greenwood, Grant Greenwood, Emma Daley, and Molly Daley.
Paul was the dear brother of Daniel Greenwood and his wife Donna Colado, of Whitman; Robyn MacMillan and her husband Keith, of Bridgewater; and Thomas Greenwood and his wife Heather, of Taunton. He was also the brother-in-law of Beth Dorman and her husband Richard of Plymouth, and Robert Giovanetti of Plymouth. He is survived by several nieces and nephews, including Kate MacMillan, to whom he was especially close.
Born in Boston on Feb. 17, 1962, he was the son of Mary R. (Morris) Greenwood and the late Paul A. Greenwood, Sr. Paul grew up in Brockton and graduated from Brockton High School, Class of 1980.
He began his distinguished career with the Plymouth County Sheriff’s Department shortly after high school, starting as a deputy and retiring 34 years later as a major. Paul was proud of his service and was especially honored to assist victims of Sept. 11, 2001, in New York.
Paul met the love of his life, Ann, in 2006, and the two were married in 2015. He loved to travel, especially to Ogunquit with Peter, and to Aruba annually with Ann. A dedicated New England Patriots fan, he was a longtime season ticket holder. Above all, Paul treasured time with his family, especially his grandchildren.
Visitation will be held at the Cartmell-Davis Funeral Home, 373 Court St., Plymouth, on Friday, June 6, from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m., followed by a service in the funeral home at 4 p.m.
