Overview
The Plymouth Independent, a growing non-profit newsroom in one of the country’s oldest towns, is seeking a reporter to add depth and a fresh edge to our newsroom of award-winning veteran newspaper and broadcast refugees. We’d love to find an enterprising journalist with a nose for news and a love for newspapers who wants to learn from a top-flight group of award-winning journalists with a combined 150 years of experience – including a former foreign correspondent, a former Boston Globe business editor, a former Spotlight member, and an investigative editor from Chicago. We are a community, online newsroom covering a wide range of issues impacting Plymouth, with a focus on accountability journalism. One of our goals is to expand coverage to include the schools and education bureaucracy, but the right candidate would not be limited to this role. We’d also like a little help with our social media presence, and our video skills – two things we hope this candidate could provide. The Independent is a fun place to work with a seasoned staff and board we encourage you to check out before applying.
