Margaret G. Dorey, 83, of Plymouth, passed away peacefully on Sunday, Nov. 9. She was the devoted wife of the late Arthur “Skip” G. Dorey.
She was also the loving mother of Linda Davey and her husband Edward, of Plymouth; cherished grandmother of Christopher Davey and his wife Emma Kaufman, of Boston; beloved sister of Carol Cousins and her husband Robert of Plymouth; and Barbara Robbins (and her husband, the late Bruce Robbins) of Whitman. She is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
Born in Boston on January 6, 1942, daughter of the late Melvin and Annie (Morrison) Williams, Margaret grew up in Dorchester and graduated from Dorchester High School. She began her career at Polaroid before marrying Skip in 1962. Together they began their life in Weymouth, later moving to Pembroke, and finally settling in Plymouth.
After raising her loving daughter, Margaret worked at South Shore Counseling in Hanover and later at Cove Counseling in Plymouth. She and Skip shared a wonderful life together, enjoying many vacations and traveling far and wide.
Visiting hours will be held at the Cartmell-Davis Funeral Home, 619 State Road, Plymouth, on Friday, Nov. 14, from 10:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m., followed by a service in the funeral home at 12:30 p.m. Burial will take place at Mayflower Cemetery, Duxbury.
