This note is to set the record with respect to comments made at the April 29 Plymouth Select Board meeting by Stephen Lydon. I am writing to clarify that, although he identified as vice chair of Precinct 17, Mr. Lydon’s comments on issues focusing on the Center Hill Preserve and the personal integrity of current lessees of that property were his own opinions, not those of Town Meeting members of Precinct 17.

As Ms. States points out in her letter to the Plymouth Independent last week, statements  “… delivered in a very public manner are now being repeated and amplified on social media.” She also points out that “If unaddressed, they [the cited comments] will continue to hang in the air and cast doubt and resentment among Plymouth residents and voters.”

Precinct 17 has not been asked to discuss the Center Hill Preserve or its officers, nor has Precinct 17 voted to support Mr. Lydon’s comments on issues relating to the Center Hill Preserve or its officers.

Joe Hutchinson

Hutchinson is the chair of Precinct 17.
