David Sherwood, who worked as a roofer throughout Plymouth and was an avid nature lover, died Sunday at his home. He was 45.
He was born in Weymouth on April 2, 1980, the son of Arthur and Alice (Furtado) Sherwood of Plymouth. Raised and educated in Plymouth, he graduated from Plymouth North High School and remained a lifelong resident.
He dedicated many years to working in the construction field, primarily in roofing throughout the greater Plymouth & Cape Cod area. Family and friends remember him for his strong work ethic, steady hands, and willingness to lend his skills wherever they were needed. Those who worked alongside him respected not only his craftsmanship but also his dependability. Friends also recall his deep love for nature and animals, appreciating the simple beauty of the world around him. Whether spending time outside or caring for his dog, Laney.
In addition to his loving parents, Arthur and Alice, he is survived by his brother, Keith Sherwood, and his wife, Debbie, all of Plymouth, along with their daughters, Kendall, Kamryn, and Karter.
Visitation will be 9 to 10 a.m. Friday, March 13 at St. Mary’s Church, 313 Court St., North Plymouth. A Funeral Mass will follow. A private burial will take place at a later date at St. Joseph’s Cemetery in Plymouth.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations in his name may be made to Friends of the Plymouth Pound, P.O. Box 578, Manomet, MA 02345, or to The Salvation Army, 52 Long Pond Road, Plymouth, MA 02360.
