Christopher P. Tripp, 53, of Plymouth, passed away on Wednesday, May 21, at Beth Israel Deaconess Hospital-Plymouth.
He was the loving father of John “Jake” Tripp and Jessica Tripp, both of Plymouth, and Tessa Dixon of New Bedford. Chris was the devoted fiancé of Theresa “Terri” Silvia of Falmouth. He is also survived by his brothers, James Tripp of Daytona Beach, Howard J. Tripp Jr. of Plymouth, and John W. Tripp of Crossville, TN.
Chris was the cherished son-in-law of Barbara Bandalevitch of New Bedford and beloved nephew of Jack Zink of Plymouth. He leaves behind many nieces, nephews, and his extended families in the Army, Plymouth Fire Department, Fire & Iron Motorcycle Club, and the John Alden Sportsman’s Club.
Born in Dorchester on November 12, 1971, Chris was the son of the late Howard J. Tripp Sr. and Janet A. (Hartley) Tripp. He grew up in Plymouth and graduated from Cape Cod Technical High School. Chris proudly served his country in the Army National Guard, including tours in Desert Storm and Operation Iraqi Freedom. His military service earned him numerous medals and ribbons.
Chris continued his commitment to public service by joining the Plymouth Fire Department, where he served with honor until his retirement in 2021.
A passionate motorcyclist, Chris was an active member of the Fire & Iron Motorcycle Club. He loved music, whether playing his guitar or singing karaoke. Deeply involved in his community, Chris participated in numerous charitable causes and was the current President of the John Alden Sportsman’s Club.
Above all, Chris will be remembered as an amazing Papa – loving, devoted, and proud.
A service will take place at the Massachusetts National Cemetery, Connery Avenue, Bourne, on Thursday, June 5, at 1:15 pm, with a procession starting from the Cartmell Davis Funeral Home, 619 State Road, Plymouth, at 12 p.m. Donations in Chris’s memory may be to the tribute fund portal here.
