Beverly D. Cohen, a beloved mother, grandmother, sister, and aunt, passed peacefully on June 2 in Plymouth. A resident of Carver, Beverly previously called Stoughton, Sharon, and Boston her home. She was an extraordinary woman known for her fiercely independent spirit and her remarkable ability to bring laughter and joy to those around her.
Beverly’s love for her family was boundless. She was a constant source of support and encouragement, always ready to lend a helping hand or a listening ear. Her legacy lives on through her devoted son, Jeff Cohen of Plymouth, her loving granddaughter, Cheslsey Cohen, and her cherished great-grandson, Brayden Mearls. Beverly also leaves behind her beloved sister, Joyce Weiner of Sharon, along with her nieces, Deborah Fleming and Sheri Brodie, her nephew, Daniel Fleming, and her great-niece, Alex Scott, as well as her great-nephews, Aiden and Brodie Scott.
A true lover of nature, Beverly had a special affection for animals, particularly her beloved turtles and birds. Her home was a vibrant sanctuary filled with houseplants, reflecting her deep connection to the natural world. In her younger years, she found joy and solace in gardening and baking, often sharing her delicious creations with family and friends. A proud New Englander, Beverly was also an avid sports fan, passionately cheering for the Boston Red Sox and the Celtics.
Beverly’s warmth, humor, and zest for life will be deeply missed by all who knew her. Her spirit will continue to inspire those she leaves behind, reminding us to embrace life with laughter and love.
A graveside service will be held on Friday, June 13, at 10:45 a.m., at Sharon Memorial Park in Sharon. Arrangements have been entrusted to Cartmell-Davis Funeral Home in Plymouth.
In lieu of flowers, the family encourages donations to a local animal shelter in Beverly’s memory, honoring her lifelong love for animals.
