Betty F. (Almeida) Balboni, who lived in Plymouth her entire life, died peacefully July 27. She was 86.
Born Nov. 27, 1939 to the late Arsene and Ruth (Hayward) Strassel, she was proud to be a lifelong resident of her hometown and educated in the local schools. She is remembered for her love of knitting and cross-stitching.
She is survived by her children, Michael Balboni and his wife Jacquelyn of Carver, Timothy Balboni and his wife Brenda of Plymouth, Christine Henrion and her husband Russell of Plymouth, and Donna Fernandes and her husband Arthur of Plymouth; ten grandchildren, Nicole Balboni, Jessica Janczewski, James Evirs Jr., Tyler Balboni, Justin Balboni, Kelley Kriehn, Arthur Fernandes III, Michelle Fernandes, Andrew Fernandes, and Abigail Fernandes; and great-grandchildren Raegan Janczewski, Arya Soler, Lilliana Janczewski, and Emily Fernandes.
She was preceded in death by her husband Donald J. Balboni; and siblings Peter Strassel, Robert Strassel, David Strassel, Marilyn Bowen, and Barbara Lecain.
A graveside service will be 11:30 a.m. Friday, Aug. 7 at Vine Hills Cemetery, 102 Samoset St., Plymouth. In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial donations be made to the American Cancer Society.
