Patricia J. (Cornell) Verre, formerly of Plymouth, died peacefully on Sept. 25, at UMass Memorial Hospital in Leominster. She was 97.
Born May 6, 1929, in Boston, to the late Frank and Catherine (Dyke) Cornell, she graduated from Revere High School as a member of the National Honor Society and went on to attend Bridgewater State College. While at college, she met and married Francis Verre of Plymouth. She is remembered for her joy of painting, reading, crafts of all kinds, and sports.
She is survived by her daughter, Kathleen (Verre) Hochard of Leominster; her sons, Steven Verre and his wife, Anne (Engstrom) Verre, of Plymouth, and Gregory Verre of Hampton Beach, New Hampshire; six grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her sister, Nancy Stokinger, and brother, Frank Cornell, Jr.
