David Norman Snow, who worked 45 years at the same cable and fiber optics company, died Friday Sept. 18. He was 75.
Born Jan. 20, 1951, in Bridgeport, CT, to David Alden Snow and Norma Snow Kinney, he grew up in New Britain, CT, and graduated from New Britain High School in 1969. He went on to earn a B.A. in English from Northeastern University in 1973.
In 1973, he began working at Boston Insulated Wire (BIW) in Plymouth, which later became Draka, and then Prysmian. Over the years, his work involved insulated wire, cable, and eventually fiber optics. He retired in 2018 after 45 years with the same company.
He was a longtime member of the Church of the Pilgrimage in Plymouth, where he served as a deacon and volunteered for many years. For as long as he was able, he made sandwiches every Monday for people in need and delivered them to the church.
His family and friends remember him for his love of reading, music, and hosting parties for family and friends.
He is survived by his wife of 55 years, Cynthia Snow; his daughters, Jessica (Tom) Craig and Lorah (Kevin) Broderick; his siblings, Priscilla (Butch) Reed, Tim (Lucy) Snow, and Linda Aiudi; four grandchildren, Parker and Abigail Craig, and Benjamin and Eliza Broderick; and many nieces, nephews, cousins, and dear friends.
Visitation will be 4 to 7 p.m. Wednesday, Sept 23. at Cartmell-Davis Funeral Home, 373 Court Street in Plymouth. A celebration of life will be 10 a.m. Thursday, Sept. 24 at the Church of the Pilgrimage, 8 Town Square, Plymouth. A private graveside service will take place at a later date.
