Eleanor Jean (Salvucci) Dutton, the longtime music director at St. Bonaventure Parish in Manomet, died Sept. 13 in her husband’s arms after a 40-year battle with Parkinson’s disease. She was 77.
Born May 7, 1949, in Newton, MA to the late Ralph and Rose Salvucci, she attended Sacred Heart School in Newton. After graduation, she entered Regis College in Weston, where she graduated with B.S. degree in Psychology in 1971. Two weeks later, she married her husband of 55 years, Edward P. Dutton Jr.
For two decades she was employed as a workers’ compensation underwriter at Public Service Co. in Braintree, MA. She was also music and choir director at St. Bonaventure for 17 years. Family and friends remember her for her love of family and music, and her perseverance in never letting her disease get the better of her.
She is survived by her husband Edward; her son Edward P Dutton III, of Wareham; her daughter Kaile Marie Dutton of Carver; her granddaughter, Lydia Dutton; her brother Ralph J Salvicci Jr. of Ohio; and her nieces and nephews.
A funeral mass will be at Holy Family Church, 601 Tremont St., Duxbury on a date not yet set. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to:
