Elizabeth "Betty" Silva Reardon

Elizabeth “Betty” Silva Reardon, died peacefully on Saturday, Aug. 15, at Newfield House in Plymouth.

Born in Cambridge on Jan. 6, 1929, to the late Francis and Elizabeth (Silva) McCarthy, she grew up in Cambridge and was a graduate of St. Mary’s High School. She began her career as a keypunch operator with Manpower, and later worked in the pro shop at Martin County Golf Course in Stuart, FL where she retired after 34 years at the age of 86.

An avid and accomplished golfer, she played on courses in many beautiful places, including Hawaii, and was a member of several golf leagues.

She is survived by her children Mary Reardon and her husband, David Parker, of Plymouth; Thomas Reardon of Plymouth; Teresa Doherty and her husband, Robert, of Cambridge; and Patricia Reardon and her husband, James Barrett, of Plymouth; grandchildren John Fialkowski, Erik Fialkowski, Daniel Parker, Casey Romanos, Kirby Reardon, Jesse Reardon, Robert Doherty, Kelly Doherty, Kristen Carey, Jason Barrett, and Michaela Tredo; and great grandchildren Kaitlyn, Zack, Charlee, Riley, Trevor, Jackson, Morgan, Emily, Thomas, Jack, and Scout. She is also survived by her brother Joseph McCarthy.

She was preceded in death by her husband Daniel J. Reardon, who died in 1988; her longtime partner Donald Rowell; and siblings Charles McCarthy, Gertrude Lynch, Francis McCarthy, Arthur McCarthy, and Mary Teresa Ring.

A mass will be 11 a.m. Friday, Aug. 28 at St. Peter’s Church, 86 Court St.
