Are you curious to understand how our local government in the Town of Plymouth works? Do you want to know how your local tax dollars are spent to keep the town running? Have you considered becoming a Town Meeting representative for your neighborhood?

Join the League of Women Voters of the Plymouth Area for two upcoming educational programs that speak to these very questions.

Thursday, Feb. 5, at 7p.m. – Run for Local Office Workshop – Great Hall at Town Hall (in-person only)

First we’ll hear from Town Meeting Member and Civics Teacher Harrison Quinn about the basics of how our local government works and what Town Meeting is. Next, the Town Clerk’s Office will educate us on deadlines, paperwork, and electioneering conduct. Then we’ll hear from Town Meeting Member and Chair of the Committee of Precinct Chairs (COPC) Matt Tavares and other Town Meeting Members about how to campaign in your neighborhood. Lastly, we’ll have an open discussion Q&A and mingle in smaller groups. There is no obligation to run for local office if you’re in attendance – come just to learn.

Thursday, Feb. 12, at 7p.m. – Where Do Your Taxes Go? – Great Hall at Town Hall & streamed live via The Local Seen

Join us for a panel discussion with Town Manager Derek Brindisi and School Superintendent Chris Campbell to learn how the town spends your local tax dollars to keep the Town running.
